Thanksgiving

This year we were able to go to Overton, NV for Dustin's family's Thanksgiving celebration. It was my first time experiencing Thanksgiving in the desert and with 100+ people! It was so much fun seeing his entire family and spending time with them. They truly are the best family I could've ever married into.
(the pictures are out of order and I am too lazy to change it. So sorry.)

hawaii

our good friends were going to hawaii for a wedding and invited us to tag along. we don't say no to hawaii!! plus, it was a good time to see dustin's two best friends and catch up with them since they live in tulsa. we love them and wish we could all live in the same place.

first we went to oahu. dustin lived there for byu hawaii one semester, so it was a lot of fun seeing the places he hung out and explored. we had an AMAZING house right on sunset beach. i was in heaven. the waves were massive so it was hard to do a lot of swimming but definitely made it adventurous! we went hiking to waterfalls, saw pearl harbor, went snorkeling, surfing, ATE, went to a show at the polynesian cultural center, saw the beautiful laie temple, tried to do stairway to heaven but got turned away by the guard, went shark diving and pretty much had the time of our lives.

then we took a quick flight to maui (where the wedding was) and were able to go paddle boarding, boogie boarding, swimming, tanning and relaxing. it was so hard to come back to reality and dumb work. i wish i could live there and just be a beach bum everyday. maybe open a shaved ice stand.

we had the waterproof camera, so we've only got a few water shots. samantha was our designated photographer so maybe i'll post some her her photos later. but these will work for now.

a very interesting shasta vacation

every year my family goes up to lake shasta for a week. we rent houseboats and ski boats, tubes and banana boats. we camp, eat, float, suntan, sleep, roast mallows and just be lazy. it is my favorite time of year and my favorite place ever.

I'm sorry for this, but it's just too funny.
this year we went a little later than normal - the middle of august. and by golly it was HOT! all we did was get in and out of the lake. anyways, we arrive at our campsite and there people there! not just people minding their own business but people living there. growing marijuana and telling weird stories. not only were there the weed growers, but there were the houseboat ravers. these people didn't know who was who and were running around naked, had random passed out men floating down the river, fire dancers and strobe lights. they blasted their music 24/7. luckily they left after day 2.

all was fine with the weed growers until our last night. they must've known we were leaving the next day. one of the ladies from the camp came down to our fire in hysterics saying she needs to call 911 because she got beat up by her brother and boyfriend/husband/whoknows. her phone died and she was diabetic and didn't know if she had high or low blood sugar. erin came to
the rescue and called 911 while my dad calmed the crazy lady down and talked her through her troubles. (she was very troubled). finally after an hour, the police and firemen showed up and took her away. told us that we shouldn't worry because if they wanted to do something worse, they could have and hurried on their way.

let's just say this year at shasta was very interesting.

Hello Again

The past 7 seven months have been pretty eventful. We went to Overton, NV for Dustin's brother's mission homecoming, went to Washington state for a little family get together, have been exploring SF, going to wedding after wedding and getting new jobs! I am so sad that summer is almost over (although summer is never the same when you're working full time). But at least we still have a couple more adventures in store. Watch out Lake Shasta and Hawaii, we are coming!

Here are a few snapshots from the past 7 months.
