a very interesting shasta vacation

every year my family goes up to lake shasta for a week. we rent houseboats and ski boats, tubes and banana boats. we camp, eat, float, suntan, sleep, roast mallows and just be lazy. it is my favorite time of year and my favorite place ever.

I'm sorry for this, but it's just too funny.
this year we went a little later than normal - the middle of august. and by golly it was HOT! all we did was get in and out of the lake. anyways, we arrive at our campsite and there people there! not just people minding their own business but people living there. growing marijuana and telling weird stories. not only were there the weed growers, but there were the houseboat ravers. these people didn't know who was who and were running around naked, had random passed out men floating down the river, fire dancers and strobe lights. they blasted their music 24/7. luckily they left after day 2.

all was fine with the weed growers until our last night. they must've known we were leaving the next day. one of the ladies from the camp came down to our fire in hysterics saying she needs to call 911 because she got beat up by her brother and boyfriend/husband/whoknows. her phone died and she was diabetic and didn't know if she had high or low blood sugar. erin came to
the rescue and called 911 while my dad calmed the crazy lady down and talked her through her troubles. (she was very troubled). finally after an hour, the police and firemen showed up and took her away. told us that we shouldn't worry because if they wanted to do something worse, they could have and hurried on their way.

let's just say this year at shasta was very interesting.

Hello Again

The past 7 seven months have been pretty eventful. We went to Overton, NV for Dustin's brother's mission homecoming, went to Washington state for a little family get together, have been exploring SF, going to wedding after wedding and getting new jobs! I am so sad that summer is almost over (although summer is never the same when you're working full time). But at least we still have a couple more adventures in store. Watch out Lake Shasta and Hawaii, we are coming!

Here are a few snapshots from the past 7 months.

Update

A lot has happened in our lives since Shasta. Dustin passed both the Series 7 and 66 with flying colors.  He was really nervous and studied so hard. I was nervous as well waiting for 6 hours to hear back from him for the first test and 3 hours for the second. Luckily he passed and still has a job! I am so proud of him. He's so smart and worked so hard.

We've been to a couple more weddings this summer and still have some to go! One of my best friends Rachel got married to Tyler, our friend from college.

The beautiful bride and groom!

Hooray for freshman friends

I got a job as a receptionist at a hedge fund. At first it was a temp job for 6-8 weeks but then they needed me for 6 months and now it's permanent! I am working as an administrative assistant for the portfolio manager. So far it has had it's ups and downs but it's a job and I can't complain.

One of Dustin's friends from work invited us to go boating on the Delta. It was Dustin's first time on the dirty delta.

I finally showed Dustin Mt. Diablo. Sorry al the pictures are of me. Dustin hogged the camera.

We made a quick trip to Utah for our friends Tyler and Kelsey's wedding, moving Dustin's sister Willow to Provo, and visit my Grandma in the hospital.

Living in San Francisco we were able to enjoy fleet week. It was so much fun! I want to be a passenger on one of those planes!

Life has been great. We are happy and about to go enjoy our 1 year anniversary this weekend! More to come.
